The Real Deal
A message from John Zurflueh of Starbright Entertainment

So is a tribute band the Real Deal? In our case, yes in terms of duplicating harmonies, stage presence, dress, energy, entertainment value and just pure replication of the original artist or group, many of whom are just gone from the live music scene. Because of so many personnel changes, others have become tribute bands themselves.

Our bands have proven time and time again just how capable they are in making this replication of the originals. Not all promoters or bands can accurately make that claim. I consider each of these bands an elite group of singers and musicians that work very hard to get it right. Really, they do it out of respect for those who originally composed and performed the songs.

Also, I have witnessed time and time again, people who come to these concerts and are just amazed how accurate they are with the original groups, often commenting that maybe they are better than the originals, or at least they can’t really tell the difference… What a testimonial!

So, whether you’re a promoter, booking agent, event coordinator or a fan coming to a show, please understand that you and/or your audiences are in for a special concert experience that truly is The Real Deal!

All Tickets Held in Will Call

The presentation by Randy Linder and his band as a tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival is second to none. They have entertained audiences from California to New York with the beloved hits that came from CCR between the years of 1968 and 1972 and a few of John Fogerty's solo hits. Past performances include several Las Vegas engagements, shows in Guam and a show in Mexico with an enthusiastic audience of 14,000 CCR fans. Randy’s authenticity shines through with the visual resemblance, the voice, the lead guitar style and even the rockin’ blues harp played by John Fogerty in some of those early CCR hits. You will walk away from this show having absorbed the energy of a full blown Rock N Roll concert and with a renewed interest in a singer/songwriter who played a huge roll in shaping American music culture.

Decades is ready to rock and as each show proves, they do so in a way that most don’t come adequately prepared for. From the introduction through to the final encore of the show, the unavoidable truth is clear; they are different and unlike any band you have seen before” -Amber Abney - Upgraded Living Magazine

Mike Amaral & The California Beach Boys

After establishing a band when he was younger, Mike Amaral always wanted to play Beach Boys music. In 2005 after a career in law enforcement, Mike, along with a cousin established The California Beach Boys Tribute. Realizing how complex the music is, he and the five other band members rehearse each song over and over until they have it right…and they do! Beach Boys music is simply some of the most fun you will ever listen to and each performance will guarantee a whole lot of Fun, Fun, Fun and Good Vibrations! 2014 marks the 50 year celebration of the Beach Boys at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

James Garner & A Tribute to Johnny Cash

As a teenager James Garner met Johnny Cash after a northern California concert and told Cash he could sing his songs. For the past twenty years Garner has been singing and playing the music of Johnny Cash.

He and his band play with extreme accuracy, energy and the same boom-chicka-boom sound heard on every Cash recording... They are extraordinary!

Cat Stevens (tribute band)

After being involved in music since age nine, George Papailias and a date attended a Cat Stevens concert in Berkeley. That was 1971. After the show George’s friend told him that he really sounded like Cat when he sang. From that day on and over forty years later, George has studied, sung the songs and played the music of Cat Stevens. The result: He is ‘spot on’ as Stevens, capturing his vocal timbre and physical mannerisms while artfully narrating Cat’s rise to fame and shocking disappearance from the pop scene. Stevens moved to Dubai in 2001 and now goes by the name of Yusaf. Backing up Papailias, are Jamie Jimmerson on keyboard and vocals, Vern Jimmerson on lead guitar, Nick Docous on base, mandolin and vocals and Bud Chatterley on drums/percussion and vocals.

As an intimate connection to the Twentieth Century’s most prolific songwriters, The Cat Stevens Tribute band will bring incredible life to over twenty five songs and provide a nostalgic two hour trip through the 1970’s for your (and their) enjoyment.

A Live Tribute To The Carpenters

The popular singing duo of the 1970's and early 80's focused on mid tempo pop and ballads with Karen Carpenter's unique and expressive alto voice on lead vocals. Both Karen and Richard Carpenter contributed background voices which were overdubbed to create densly layered harmonies; an integral part of their signature sound.

Michelle Whited performs a stunning presentation of reproducing Karen's unique voice along with Don Stamey on piano. The entire live band consists of skilled musicians who perform flawlessly, assisted by only pre-recorded background harmonies. The result is a memorable performance that will keep you engaged as you revisit the remarkable music interlude from an era to be cherished for a lifetime.
